SHEFFIELD booked their place in the Sports Insure Premiership play-offs for a third season on the spin with a 57-33 rout against King’s Lynn.
It was a seventh straight home win for the Owlerton outfit who made it 16 unbeaten against the Stars in the top-flight.
The Tru Plant Tigers’ new look side were in ruthless mood as they won 13 of the 15 races on a night of stunning entertainment in South Yorkshire.
All-action Aussie Josh Pickering led the scorechart with a 12+1 haul. The Tigers’ No.4 ended his night with a hat-trick of race wins, two of which saw him fend off the charge of hard charging Grand Prix star Robert Lambert.
Meanwhile No.1 Tobiasz Musielak secured a home paid maximum for the second week running whilst captain Kyle Howarth produced his best score since early July.
Tai Woffinden won two of his four outings whilst 2012 World Champion Chris Holder won three of his four rides on his first appearance in Sheffield colours.
Rising Star Jason Edwards showed plenty of encouraging signs on his home debut, particularly in his final two rides whilst new signing Claus Vissing suffered an engine failure whilst leading Heat Two and then a fall before working hard for a point in Heat 11.
The Tru Plant Tigers are back in action on Monday (September 4, 7.30) when they travel to Peterborough for their final regular away fixture of the year.
