PREVIEW: TIGERS v BELLE VUE

Wednesday September 21, 2022
SHEFFIELD can grab top spot in the Premiership ahead of the play-offs when they host rivals Belle Vue on Thursday (September 22, 7.30).

Another win at Owlerton would not only see the Tru Plant Tigers make it nine out of nine in the league at home but would also see them leapfrog Ipswich into first place.

That would see them take on the team who finish in fourth place after Thursday’s cut-off in the Semi-Finals which get underway next week.

Tigers have shown some impressive form in the Steel City this term and have passed the 50-point barrier against Belle Vue on both of their visits this season.

Since then though, the Aces have kicked on and also secured qualification for the end of season play-offs.

It promises to be another dramatic night of Speedway under the floodlights and Sheffield co-promoter Damien Bates is anticipating one of the atmospheres of the year so far.

Said Bates: “We’ve already beat Belle Vue twice here this season so we know what it takes to get the job done against them.

“It won’t be easy, though, we all know that.

“It’s a huge night for a number of reasons but ultimately we need to keep building momentum to hit top form just at the right time ahead of the play-offs.”

SHEFFIELD: Tobiasz Musielak, Lewis Kerr, Adam Ellis, Kyle Howarth, Jack Holder, Justin Sedgmen, Connor Mountain.

BELLE VUE: Max Fricke R/R, Tom Brennan, Matej Zagar, Charles Wright, Brady Kurtz, Jye Etheridge, Norick Blodorn.
