KING'S LYNN 41 TIGERS 49

Thursday June 23, 2022
SHEFFIELD bagged all four league points with a stunning 49-41 victory at King’s Lynn.

It was a result that not only moved the Tru Plant Tigers level on points in joint second with Belle Vue, but more importantly moved them nine clear of King’s Lynn who sit outside the play-off places.

The South Yorkshire side provided nine race winners in Norfolk - despite former British Champion Craig Cook unable to complete a ride and withdrawing with some discomfort in his shoulder and wrist after Heat Five.

It was a an impressive recovery as well as the Tigers went 9-3 down after just two races.

But four heat advantages out of the next six saw them back level by Heat Eight.

They did concede a 4-2 in the ninth before moving ahead for the first time after Heat Ten with a first 5-1 of the night from Tobiasz Musielak and Kyle Howarth.

From there, the Tigers denied the hosts any further advantages and a maximum from Musielak and Jack Holder in Heat 15 saw the Owlerton outfit claim maximum points at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Club captain Kyle Howarth said: “That was just the result we needed.

“We made a few mistakes at Peterborough last week so we wanted to rectify that - and by getting all four league points we’ve done just that.

“It was a great result for the boys. This is a great team and again we’ve shown everyone what we are capable of.”

The Tru Plant Tigers have the opportunity to go top of the Premiership on Monday (June 27, 7.30), if they beat current league leaders Ipswich at Owlerton.
