TIGERS v LAKESIDE, PREVIEW

Wednesday July 25, 2018
TIGERS top man Kyle Howarth wants their Pairs title win to be a springboard to push on to defend the league championship.

Howarth and Charles Wright were outstanding in taking the Pairs at Somerset - the first silverware for the Tigers since winning the league last October.

Now Howarth wants that to boost a big bid to retain the league - starting with Lakeside on Thursday night.

Howarth said: “We now want this to give the club a lift before taking on Lakeside.

“They are a good side already in the Play-Off places and we are in for a tough night.

“I think everyone is buzzing about the Pairs so we need to keep that feeling going.

“It’s great to win the Pairs for the club. We need to take that form into the meeting against Lakeside.

“Me and Charles got the job done at Somerset and I hope it gives us all a boost as it gets to the business end of the season.

“It’s a tough night at the Pairs, it always is, we knew it was going to be hard. We worked as a team and we were consistent all the way through the night.”

Both sides are at full strength for a much-awaited Championship big hitters clash.

The Hammers have a potent top three of Nick Morris, Adam Ellis and Richard Lawson which has made them a force to be reckoned with on their travels.

But the Tigers top stars are also bang on form along with American new-boy revelation Broc Nicol and flying reserve James Shanes.

The Tigers management have also made it a Kids Under-12 Go In Free night to kick off the summer holidays.

Plus Howarth and Wright will be doing pictures with the Pairs trophy between 6.30 and 6.45pm. Now that’s a sweet selfie you really want!
