BJERRE SET FOR PAIRS

Friday October 06, 2017
SHEFFIELD star Lasse Bjerre is targeting more trophies this season – starting in Sunday’s SGB Championship Pairs at Owlerton.

The Danish ace teams up with skipper Kyle Howarth for the Window Centre Tigers in the showpiece event featuring all ten clubs (3pm start).

Bjerre stepped into the line-up with No.1 Josh Grajczonek short of full fitness following his recent crashes, and with a heavy schedule still to come in October.

The Tigers face a hectic week as they take on Leicester with a place in the SGB Premiership up for grabs, and then take on Grand Final opponents Ipswich again in the semi-finals of the KO Cup.

Bjerre said: “I’ve been racing in England for so many years but I’ve never won anything. So to finally be able to celebrate and spray some champagne was a brilliant feeling and I want to do it more often.

“It’s a shame for Josh because he’s been the No.1 all year long and it’s hard on him to miss out.

“But I’m more than happy to step-in for him, and hopefully me and Kyle can do a good job.

“I love the Sheffield track; I’ve found some speed in the second half of the season mainly and we’ve already come up with some big results here this season.”
