WORK is underway to get Owlerton Stadium fit and ready for action this Thursday as Sheffield Tigers face Workington in Premier League action.

Track staff and stadium personnel are already on the case after the Penistone Road venue suffered unprecedented floods - and much of the speedway ciruit was left under water.

Sheffield Speedway, sponsored by Sheffield Window Centre, would like to clarify the meeting IS ON - despite a postponement incorrectly reported by ITV Teletext Sport on Tuesday afternoon.
