PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v TIGERS

Sunday March 29, 2026
SHEFFIELD’s season gets underway with a trip to rivals Belle Vue on Monday (March 30, 7.30pm) in the Northern Section of the Premiership Knockout Cup.

A revamped format of the competition also sees holders Leicester join the Tigers and the Aces in the group with the mini table toppers progressing through to the Final later in the year.

Sheffield have kept six riders on board from the team that finished last season with Rising Star Luke Killeen the only new face in their ranks.

And they’re looking to make a strong start on the road ahead of hosting the Aces back at Owlerton on Thursday (April 2, 7.30pm).

Team Manager Simon Stead said: “When you look at the team we’ve got, no place should hold any fear for us and that’s the way I want us to approach this year.

“Having said that, the whole league looks a lot more balanced across the board this year and of course I’m realistic with the fact that we’ll have some challenges along the way.

“But the belief I’ve got in this group of boys is something else and that’s what makes me think that we’re in for one hell of an exciting year.

“Belle Vue have gone with a strong top two again and they themselves will want to get off to a winning start.

“But I know our group of lads are going to go everywhere and give it their best and I know we’re capable of going anywhere and getting a result on our night if everything clicks into place.”
