TIGERS READY TO DEFEND TITLE

Friday June 24, 2011
RICKY Ashworth and Shane Parker head to Somerset as Sheffield's representatives in the Premier League Pairs Championship tonight as they look to defend the title.

Ashworth partnered Josh Auty to last year's top spot but with Auty injured this time the Owlerton club are fortunate to have former Somerset man Parker to call upon.

Skipper Ashworth said: "It was a special night when we won the title last year and there is no reason why Shane and me can't do it this year.

"It's always a good line-up so it's going to be a tough meeting but it always provides good racing and both Shane and me like the Somerset track so we'll go down there and give it our best."

The action starts at 7.30 and plenty of Tigers fans will make the trip before heading over to Cardiff for tomorrow's British Grand Prix.
