TIGERS 61 LEICESTER 33

SHEFFIELD added three more important Premier League points to their tally with a thumping 61-33 win over Leicester at Owlerton on Thursday.

Both skipper Ricky Ashworth and Aussie Shane Parker were in untouchable form as Sheffield banged in seven 5-1s to crush the resistance of a Lions side finding it tough going since their re-birth this season.

It keeps Eric Boocock’s side in contention for top spot in the league, especially with three successive home meetings to come.

For the visitors, Sergy Darkin was best with paid 11, although that included a four-point tactial ride haul, while his Russian team-mate Ilya Bondarenko just wasn’t at the races. Former Tigers star Richard Hall could only manage nine points and the usually prolific Richard Sweetman looked a shadow of his former self.

SHEFFIELD: S. Parker 17+1, R. Ashworth 14+1, S. Lambert 11+1, E. Sanchez 9+2, H. Skidmore 5+2, A. Birks 5.

LEICESTER: S. Darkin 10+1, R. Hall 9, C. Wright 5, J. Graversen 4+1, A. Morris 2+1, R. Sweetman 2, I. Bondarenko 1+1.
