TIGERS V LEICESTER - THURSDAY, PREVIEW

Wednesday June 22, 2011
SHEFFIELD Tigers are looking to continue their impressive run of home form when they face Premier League newcomers Leicester Lions at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45).

And that means a swift return for Richard Hall, who made the switch from Sheffield to Leicester during the winter in a loan deal.

He made a guest appearance for the Tigers last week in place of the injured Josh Auty who is likely to be out for another month with a broken ankle.

Leicester also include Russian duo Sergei Darkin and Ilya Bonderenko who are always good entertainment value.

Tigers boss Eric Boocock said: “We’ve let some points slip through our grasp away from home so we need to get it right on our own track.

“Hopefully we can get all three points against Leicester. I know they’ve been struggling but we will treat them with respect and I’m sure all our lads will give it everything they’ve got.”

The rider replacement facility will be in operation for Auty which means the remaining six riders in the side are eligible to take his four programmed rides.

Meanwhile the following night Shane Parker and Ricky Ashworth will defend the Premier League Best Pairs title at Somerset in one of the sport’s biggest meetings on the domestic calendar.

Tigers fans are expected to turn out in force with many of them travelling on to Cardiff for the British Grand Prix on Saturday.
