TIGERS V NEWCASTLE - THURSDAY, PREVIEW

Wednesday June 15, 2011
SHEFFIELD Tigers face two meetings in as many nights with vital Premier League points on the line.

The Sheffield Window Centre-backed side face Newcastle Diamonds at Owlerton on Thursday and then travel to Edinburgh on Friday.

They are currently sitting in fourth place in the Premier League standings, five points behind leaders Workington.

Now they are looking to add vital points to keep up the pressure on the top teams in the race for the title.

Influential Aussie ace Shane Parker said: “These are important meetings for us. We were all gutted to miss out at Scunny last week and hopefully we can make up for it with two good performances.

“We have to target maximum points against Newcastle and then see if we can get a result at Edinburgh, but it will be tough.”

Tigers asset Richard Hall steps in for the injured Josh Auty against the Diamonds and Redcar’s former Edinburgh man Aaron Summers will deputise in Scotland.

Another Tigers asset, Lee Complin, makes a guest appearance for Newcastle in place of Mark Lemon who has a broken collarbone which he only discovered on Monday.

TIGERS: Richard Hall, Emiliano Sanchez, Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Shane Parker, Ashley Birks, Simon Lambert.

NEWCASTLE: Lee Complin, Derek Sneddon, Jason King, Stuart Robson, Claes Nedermark, Kyle Newman, Richie Worrall.
