JOSH GOES WILD

Tuesday May 24, 2011
SHEFFIELD youngster Josh Auty will ride in next month’s British Final after securing one of two wildcards.

Auty thought his chance had gone after shedding a chain in semi-final heartbreak at Owlerton last Thursday.

But he’s been handed a place in the showpiece event at Wolverhampton on Monday, June 6 alongside Tai Woffinden.

It means Sheffield will have two riders in the field with Ricky Ashworth already qualified and club assets Richard Hall and Ben Wilson are also through.

Said Auty: "There is no doubt in my mind I would have qualified easily but for me shedding a chain at Sheffield, so this makes up for that disappointment.

“I don't have too much experience around Monmore Green but I know I have beaten a lot of the boys in the line-up already in my career and I'll be looking to do it again."
