TIGERS V IPSWICH - THURSDAY, PREVIEW

Wednesday April 20, 2011
SHEFFIELD Tigers have switched their riding order in a bid to bounce back to winning ways against a powerhouse Ipswich side at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45).

In a major overhaul by boss Eric Boocock he has completely switched four of the top five – and Shane Parker remains in the number one slot because the rules state the rider with the top average must race in that position.

Boocock is trying the new riding order after seeing his side slip to a home defeat at the hands of Somerset last Thursday and club owner Neil Machin insists everyone is desperate to get back on the right track.

He said: “Eric spent the weekend contemplating the changes and he’s gone for it.

“Ipswich are still a massive name in speedway and it’s great to have them in the Premier League, they are very attractive opposition.

“John and Chris Louis are the long-standing promotional duo there and they have been very clever in the way they have put their team together for their first season at this level.

“They have riders who are more than capable of increasing their average and that’s always the key to a successful team. Riders like Kevin Doolan, Taylor Poole and Lasse Bjerre will all do well around our track and in Chris Mills at reserve they have a rider who knows our track well from the time he spent with us a couple of seasons ago.”

TIGERS: Shane Parker, Emiliano Sanchez, Josh Auty, Hugh Skidmore, Ricky Ashworth, Simon Lambert, Ashley Birks.

IPSWICH: Kevin Doolan, Taylor Poole, Lasse Bjerre, Morten Risager, Chris Schramm, Jerran Hart, Chris Mills.
