AUTY'S U21 DELIGHT

Monday April 18, 2011
SHEFFIELD Speedway youngster Josh Auty says his win in Sunday’s World Under-21 qualifier in Germany was the best result of his career.

And the West Yorkshireman is determined to help the Owlerton club get back to winning ways when they return to action against Ipswich on Thursday.

Auty beat Swedish sensation Dennis Andersson, who rides for Elite League Poole Pirates, in a run-off for top spot in the Herxheim meeting.

He said: “This has to be the best result of my career so far because it underlines to me that I’m capable of not just matching top riders but beating them.

“My form for Sheffield has been good so far and I want to keep it going because I’ve got a busy spell coming up and we have home and away meetings with Ipswich this week.”

Tigers lost at home to Somerset last Thursday which means they are under pressure to bounce back against the Witches on Thursday.
