SHEFFIELD Speedway are keen to clarify that Ipswich will visit Owlerton in a Premier League fixture as planned on Thursday week, April 21.

Some media outlets are reporting the fixture has been switched for TV coverage to Tuesday May 31 but this is not possible as Greyhound racing takes place at the venue that night.

Sheffield owner Neil Machin said: “We have been getting a lot of enquries from supporters about this date but I would like to emphasise that there will not be a meeting here on Tuesday, May 31.

“Ipswich will be here next week as was originally planned and I hope this clears up any confusion for supporters. I have no idea why the fixture has been advertised for TV coverage on a Tuesday night when we have Greyhound racing at the stadium that night so it was never going to happen.”
