RAMBO RETURNS

Wednesday December 01, 2010
SIMON Lambert is staying with Sheffield Tigers for a second successive season.

Lambert, affectionately known as 'Rambo' by Owlerton fans, was a big hit when he joined the club mid-way through the 2010 campaign when he lost his place at Scunthorpe.

He joins Hugh Skidmore and Josh Auty as confirmed starters in the 2011 Sheffield team with more to follow over the next few days.

He said: “I’m very pleased to be staying with Sheffield. They took me on towards the end of last season when I lost my place at Scunthorpe and I settled into the team well.

“They had the confidence in me to take me on and I think I proved what I am capable of.

“From the age of 15 my career had only gone one way each year and that was up - so it was a big body blow to be struggling and watch my career nosedive last year until Neil Machin rang me up and offered me a lifeline!"

Lambert is also looking for sponsorship after losing his main backer and he can be contacted via his website www.simonlambertracing.co.uk
