TIGERS OUTCLASSED

Saturday October 28, 2006
SHEFFIELD were crushed 63-30 in the first-ever Premier League Grand Final at King's Lynn - and went down 100-82 on aggregate.

Team boss Reg Wilson tried every tactical move possible to keep the rampant Stars in sight but, ultimately, they were outclassed.

Ten points down overall going into the final two races, the large contingent of travelling Tigers fans were left hoping for a miracle but that failed to materialise.

And to add to their misery, popular Argentinean Emiliano Sanchez crashed heavily in the penultimate race sustaining a foot injury.

Earlier Sheffield reserve Paul Cooper was forced to withdraw from the meeting after taking just two rides having aggravated the wrist injury he sustained earlier in the week.

King's Lynn: Troy Batchelor 13, Daniel Nermark 11, Tomas Topinka 10, Kevin Doolan 9+1, Trevor Harding 7+3, Chris Mills 7+3, John Oliver 6+1.

Sheffield: Ben Wilson 11, Andre Compton 7, Kyle Legault 6, Ricky Ashworth 3+1, Mark Thompson 2, Paul Cooper 1, Emiliano Sanchez 0.
