NEWCASTLE V TIGERS - PREVIEW

Sunday October 17, 2010
SHEFFIELD Tigers go in search of Premier League Play-off glory at Newcastle tonight (6.30).

The Sheffield Window Centre-backed side have a 53-43 lead from the first leg at Owlerton on Thursday night and are looking to win the Play-off title for the first time in the current format.

And if they are successful they will then face Ipswich Witches over two legs for a place in next year's Elite League.

Skipper Ricky Ashworth, who broke the Owlerton track record on Thursday, says the team are raring to go.

Said Ashworth: "There's a great team spirit and we're all buzzing, there is no reason why we cannot go up there and finish the job.

"Personally I would love to have a go at Ipswich for a place in the Elite League which is what will happen if we win the Play-offs.

"It's a great way for us to end the season, everyone within the club is buzzing with excitement because we have really come good towards the end."

Casper Wortmann comes in for the injured Paul Cooper at reserve for Sheffield in an otherwise unchanged team with the rider replacement facility operating for the banned Josef Franc.

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Josef Franc R/R, Richard Hall, Josh Auty, Casper Wortmann, Simon Lambert.
