COMPLIN COMEBACK ON CARDS

Friday April 20, 2007
LEE Complin is on his way back - but not with Sheffield.

Complin, who sensationally quit the sport as a teenager and has missed the last four seasons, has told the Owlerton club he is ready to make a comeback - and Tigers have given a rival Premier League outfit permission to do a deal.

The West Yorkshire-based rider won the treble with Sheffield in 2002.

Tigers co-promoter David Hoggart said: "We're excited at the prospect of Lee returning to speedway as he was a rider with natural ability.

"He had his reasons for retiring as a teenager, but once he told us he was ready to return we looked at ways in which we could get him back into our side and it just wasn't possible.

"We then made every effort to ensure he could ride elsewhere. There is no way we would ever try and stand in the way of one of our own riders wanting to race."
