POTTERS WILL GET RESPECT

Wednesday April 18, 2007
SHEFFIELD Tigers face two meetings in three days against great rivals Stoke - starting with a home clash on Thursday (7.45pm).

The Potters actually won at Owlerton last season in a breathtaking Premier League clash and they have riders who are all capable of scoring points on officially the fastest track in Britain.

Every member of the Potters top five has done well at one time or another at Owlerton and Glenn Cunningham has fond memories of almost a decade ago when he won the Premier League Riders' Championship at Owlerton representing Peterborough.

Said Tigers owner Neil Machin: "It's been a troubled start to the season for Stoke but we have to treat them with respect because if their top five functions all at the same time we will have some work on our hands.

"The priority for us is to gain home and away wins against them as we go to Loomer Road on Saturday and that would make our Premier Trophy efforts look a lot more respectable."

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth, Ben Wilson, Andre Compton, James Birkinshaw, Joel Parsons, Paul Cooper, James Cockle.
STOKE: Rusty Harrison, Ben Barker, Garry Stead, Paul Pickering, Glenn Cunningham, Barrie Evans, Jack Hargreaves.
