SCUNTHORPE’S Gary Irving won Thursday's Top Gun individual event at Owlerton on a night of thrills and spills.

Irving notched 13-points to take the title after organisers pulled the plug on the semi-final and final because of the time curfew after several delays.

Former Owlerton mascot James Sarjeant, who rides for National League Bournemouth, was taken to hospital with a hand injury and Buxton’s Jason Garrity was also hurt.

Steve Worrall finished runner-up with 12 and newcomer Tom Armstrong secured the bronze medal on 11.
