TOP GUN INDIVIDUAL - THURSDAY, PREVIEW

Wednesday September 15, 2010
SHEFFIELD Tigers bosses are urging fans to enjoy the stars of tomorrow in their OzChem Top Gun Individual event at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45).

Nigel Hinchcliffe, the club's youth development officer, has worked hard to assemble the line-up which is made up mainly of young British teenagers and the best the National League has to offer.

Said Hinchlcliffe: "All but two of the field are British! The two Aussies on show, Robert Branford and Tom Armstrong, will fancy their chances of following in the tyretracks of their fellow countrymen, Darcy Ward and Taylor Poole, winners in 2008 and 2009 respectively, but they won’t find it easy.

"I believe there is no shortage of good young riders in this country but there is a shortage of opportunity for them to develop and progress to the upper tiers of British, and hopefully international, speedway.

"I would urge our fans to come along and give these young 'Top Guns' their support.

"The speedway’s going to be great and then there’s that fantastic offer to enjoy a top notch meal in the very classy restaurant for not much more than the price of a burger! It's a great opportunity to enjoy the racing from the view in the stadium!"

The action starts at 7.45 and there is a meal deal available for fans who will get a voucher which enables them to sample the famous Owlerton carvery for just £5 - from the best seats in the house!

LINE-UP: Jason Garrity, Steven Worral, Richard Worral, Ashley Birks, Adam McKinna, Richard Franklin, Adam Wrathall, Gary Irving, Thomas Armstrong, James Sargent, Tom Perry, Jamie Rodgers, Robert Branford, Brendan Johnson, Kyle Howarth, Paul Starke.
