TIGERS V SOMERSET - THURSDAY, PREVIEW

Wednesday September 01, 2010
JUBILANT Sheffield Tigers return to home territory when they face Somerset at Owlerton Stadium on Thursday (7.45).

Eric Boocock's men have handed themselves a great chance of finishing in the top four and qualifying for the play-offs after taking five-points from their travels at the weekend.

Said Boocock: "I must admit when we dropped points at Newport I thought we'd blown it, but to bounce back like we did at Scunthorpe was superb.

"We've booked Lubos Tomicek as a guest because he's a capable rider who is on a low average after a relatively disappointing season. If he can ride to his true ability he could be a trump card for us in this meeting."

German star Christian Hefenbrock leads the Somerset charge after starting the season at Coventry. He was on Sheffield's radar when they looked into the possibility of team changes in May.

Australian trio Sam Masters, Shane Parker and Cory Gathercole are sure to revel on the wide open Owlerton track and will push Sheffield all the way.

SHEFFIELD: Josh Auty, Hugh Skidmore, Josef Franc, Richard Hall, Ricky Ashworth, Lubos Tomicek, Simon Lambert.

SOMERSET: Christian Hefenbrock, Cory Gathercole, Shane Parker, Sam Masters, Ritchie Hawkins, James Holder, Kyle Howarth.
