The result saw them take a bonus point in their battle for a top four slot - and they now need to win at Scunthorpe on Monday.

With just three races to go Tigers held a 37-35 lead - but the South Wales side made the better finish to win the match.

Richard Hall did take the chequered flag ahead of Kyle Legault in the penultimate race, but Ricky Wells just failed to beat Alex Davies in the battle for third place and so it went to a last heat decider with the hosts leading by two points.

But there was to be no final race joy for the Tigers as the impressive Kyle Legault led all the way from Ashworth and Leigh Lanham.
