TIGERS AIM FOR TROPHY BONUS

Wednesday April 11, 2007
SHEFFIELD Tigers need to beat Workington by more than eight-points at Owlerton on Thursday to keep alive their hopes of Premier Trophy semi-final qualification.

The Comets have revamped their side during the winter with only one survivor from last season - James Wright - but he is out injured.

Berwick's Mikal Makovsky (pictured) deputises as a guest replacement against a full strength Sheffield side.

When the sides met in Cumbria 10-days ago Sheffield went down 49-41 but they'll start the home leg as favourites.

"Makovsky has had some good meetings around Sheffield in the past and we must treat him with great respect," said Sheffield co-promoter David Hoggart.

"I think Workington have done the right thing booking him and I'm sure he'll do a good job for them.

"They also have two good, solid reserves so James Birkinshaw and Paul Cooper will need to be on form in that department for us."

The club would like to once again send out a reminder that all Under-12s will be admitted free of charge under their new promotion for the 2007 season.

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth, Joel Parsons, Andre Compton, James Cockle, Ben Wilson, James Birkinshaw, Paul Cooper.
WORKINGTON: Mikal Makovsky (Guest), Mattia Carpanese, Kenneth Hansen, Craig Branney, Kauko Nieminen, Charles Wright, Jamie Robertson.
