SIMON SAYS YES TO TIGERS

Monday June 28, 2010
SHEFFIELD Tigers have signed Simon Lambert who will make his debut against Rye House at Owlerton on Thursday.

Lambert replaces struggling reserve Arlo Bugeja who has been made available to other clubs with immediate effect.

New signing Lambert almost joined the Sheffield Window Centre-backed side last season but now arrives at the club after being released from Scunthorpe.

Sheffield co-promoter David Hoggart said: "Simon is a good lad, he has guested for us before and has never let us down. A change of club for him will do him good also and I know how delighted he is to be joining Sheffield and racing at a track he likes so much.

"We actually came very close to signing Simon for the 2009 season and we had agreed everything with King's Lynn but then circumstances changed and we had to go down a different route.

"So in many ways this move was meant to happen and if Simon can rebuild his confidence quickly then I feel sure we will be a lot stronger in the reserve department."
