TIGERS V REDCAR - THURSDAY, PREVIEW

Wednesday May 26, 2010
SHEFFIELD Tigers are gunning for maximum points from their last two Premier Trophy fixtures in a bid to book a shock place in the semi-finals.

The Owlerton side face Redcar at home on Thursday and then go to Birmingham on Sunday.

They need to win Thursday's home encounter by more than six-points and then pull off a draw at Perry Barr.

Skipper Paul Cooper said: “To be honest we thought we were out of it but the way the results have gone we still have a chance. We’re going for two wins, everyone is buzzing after our win against Berwick last week.”

Josef Franc will leave it until the last possible moment before deciding whether to take his place in the Sheffield Window Centre-backed side after he was hurt last week.

But Hugh Skidmore is a certain starter after recovering from a neck injury sustained in the Berwick meeting. He’s had a week’s rest and is raring to go.

Redcar have bolstered their squad recently with the signing of experienced Dane Henning Bager and they also include former Sheffield favourites Emiliano Sanchez and Ben Wilson.

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Josh Auty, Josef Franc, Richard Hall, Paul Cooper, Arlo Bugeja.

REDCAR: Henning Bager, Emiliano Sanchez, Tomas Suchanek, Gary Havelock, Ben Wilson, Stuart Swales, Gary Irving.
