TIGERS V BERWICK - THURSDAY, PREVIEW

Wednesday May 19, 2010
SHEFFIELD Tigers are looking to continue their recent improvement in form when they face Berwick in Premier League action at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45).

The Sheffield Window Centre-backed side rode well in away meetings with Somerset and Rye House last week and are now looking to give home fans plenty to shout about.

Club owner Neil Machin said: “We have had our problems, but if we can put in the sort of performances as we did at Somerset and Rye House then we will be back on the right track.

“Ricky Ashworth won three races at Rye and we were delighted with that until he had bike problems in the last ride, which meant he couldn’t do heat 15, and Richard Hall grabbed a couple of wins. Keep that up and we will be OK.”

“We need a good result against the Bandits to prove that we can be a force in this league.”

Berwick include Czech Republic stars Adrian Rymel and Michal Makovsky who have both done well around Owlerton in the past and in Anders Anderson and Craig Branney they have a handy reserve pairing.

Tigers are unchanged from their weekend trip down south which means they are once again at full strength with Josef Franc facing one of his former clubs.

Meanwhile Tigers have announced some fixture changes. They’ll face Redcar Bears at Owlerton next Thursday, May 27, after the Teesside men agreed to fill a blank in the Tigers calendar.
That means the original date for the fixture, Sunday June 6, will now not take place and Sheffield have also agreed to go to Redcar on Friday, May 28 instead of the original Augsut 27 date.

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Josef Franc, Josh Auty, Richard Hall, Paul Cooper, Arlo Bugeja.

BERWICK: Adrian Rymel, Jade Mudgway, Lee Complin R/R, Paul Clews, Michal Makovsky, Anders Anderson, Craig Branney.
