SHEFFIELD suffered a late Edinburgh onslaught in their 56-35 Premier League defeat in Scotland on Friday.
Former skipper Ricky Ashworth was the top performer for the Sheffield Window Centre-backed side with 9+1 alongside Josef Franc - and Hugh Skidmore was good value for his 8+1 contribution.
Tigers made the perfect start with Ashworth and Skidmore pulling off two successive maximums from their outings but the hosts - who were looking to bounce back from a home defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Glasgow - had too much strength.
Tigers weren't helped by below-par performances from key riders.
Arlo Bugeja was ruled out of the meeting after a Heat 2 spill and the club are now awaiting further medical reports on a suspected knee injury.
Skipper Paul Cooper said: "It was hard work out there and it's a disappointing result. We were looking to get something from the meeting."
EDINBURGH: Kalle Katajisto 13+1, Andrew Tully 11+3, Ryan Fisher 11+1, Kevin Wolbert 9, Matthew Wethers 6+2, Jozsef Tabaka 5+1, Cal McDade 1.
SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth 9+1, Josef Franc 9+1, Hugh Skidmore 8+1, Paul Cooper 4, Josh Auty 4, Richard Hall 1, Arlo Bugeja 0.
