TIGERS V REDCAR - THURSDAY, PREVIEW

Wednesday March 31, 2010
SHEFFIELD Tigers have a score to settle when they face great rivals Redcar Bears in Thursday’s Premier Trophy clash at Owlerton (7.45).

Eric Boocock’s men were beaten twice at home by the Bears last season, in both the Trophy and the Premier League – quite an achievement by the Teesside club.

Redcar include former Sheffield favourite Ben Wilson who is with them for a second successive season after making a success of his switch from Owlerton last year.

A product of the old Sheffield mini training track, Wilson helped destroy his parent club last season and is sure to be equally dangerous on Thursday.

Sheffield owner Neil Machin said: “They will come here expecting to repeat their form of last season but we’ve still enough riders here who remember how it felt to be hammered on our own track.

“Then they came here and beat us again in the league which added insult to injury.

"We are determined not to let that happen again, but we do know that the Bears are still packed with Owlerton specialists.”

The meeting also sees the relaunch of the scheme where children under the age of 12 are admitted FREE!

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Richard Hall, Josh Auty, Josef Franc, Paul Cooper, Arlo Bugeja.

REDCAR: Gary Havelock, Tomas Suchanek, Ben Wilson, Maks Gregoric, Emiliano Sanchez, Stuart Swales, Jan Graversen.
