Wednesday March 17, 2010
SHEFFIELD Tigers launch an exciting new Speedway season when they face Elite League giants Belle Vue Aces at Owlerton Stadium on Thursday (7.45).

The War of the Roses clash is certain to attract a bumper crowd with the Aces making a rare visit across from Manchester.

Sheffield hand a debut to both Josef Franc and Arlo Bugeja, their two winter signings, and the Aces include British Grand Prix star Tai Woffinden as a replacement for the injured Charlie Gjedde.

Sheffield boss Eric Boocock said: “This is going to be a tough test for my team but everyone is looking forward to it.

“It’s a great opportunity for the lads to go through their paces against world class riders and it’s also a good chance for our supporters to see the likes of Woffy and Peter Karlsson on our track.”

The newly refurbished Panorama Room Restaurant will be open for the first time on Speedway nights and special offers on dining in the best seats in the house are available by calling 01142 853142.
