TRIBUTES are pouring in for Rob Woffinden who finally succumbed to illness on Saturday morning.

The former Sheffield rider and father of new Grand Prix star Tai had been battling cancer for a year.

Sheffield promoter Neil Machin admits he has lost one of his best friends.

He said: “Rob is a hero, he has been an inspiration to so many friends and family both here in the UK and his other home in Australia.

“Whilst this is devastating news Rob has worked so hard to prepare everyone and encourage them to plan ahead which is testimony to the brave character of the man, he will be sorely missed.

“On a personal note I have lost one of my best friends.”
