SHEFFIELD Tigers have set a deadline of midnight Thursday to make a new signing.

The Owlerton side have already signed five of the seven riders to race for the club in 2010 - Ricky Ashworth, Richard Hall, Josh Auty, Hugh Skidmore and Paul Cooper.

Now they are in talks with a potential new face - but club owner Neil Machin is refusing to comment on reports it could be German star Christian Hefenbrock.

He said: "One way or another we will have a new signing in place by Friday - but I am not prepared to offer any further comment at this stage. I'm aware of the speculation."
