DISASTER STRIKES FOR TOOTHLESS TIGERS

Wednesday March 28, 2007
SHEFFIELD skipper Andre Compton is facing a spell on the sidelines after crashing out of the Premier Trophy trip to King's Lynn on Wednesday night.

And to add insult to injury Tigers crashed to a 75-15 whitewash defeat as they failed to beat an opposing rider all night.

Any high hopes Tigers had of Premier Trophy glory were sent crashing down to earth when Compton collided with Daniel Nermark in his opening heat and went to hospital with a pelvic injury.

After that, Tigers failed to cope with a rampant King's Lynn side and club owner Neil Machin was left red-faced as he offered no excuses for his riders.

The sides meet again in the Owlerton return on Thursday night when Tigers are hoping to use a guest replacement for their injured skipper.

KING'S LYNN: Tomas Topinka 14+1, Daniel Nermark 14+1, John Oliver 11+1, James Brundle 10+2, Trevor Harding 9+3, Chris Mills 9+3, Paul Lee 8+4.

SHEFFIELD: Ben Wilson 6, Joel Parsons 4, James Birkinshaw 3, James Cockle 2, Paul Cooper 0, Ricky Ashworth 0, Andre Comtpon 0.
