THE Scandinavian stars of the future will be on show at Owlerton on Thursday night.

After the main Premier League event between the Tigers and Newport Wasps, a Scandinavian touring team will take to the track against a young Sheffield Prowlers side in a second-half Challenge match.

The youngsters, all aged between 17-20, are already catching the eye of eager promoters on their tour of British tracks and in a lively encounter at Berwick last weekend they demolished a young Borderers team 29-7. Regular Bandit Greg Blair could only muster two points!

Team Viking’s four-man outfit includes Norwegian Daniel Gunnestad, who is the son of Poole Pirates legend, Lars, and Dane Jesper Soegaard Kristiansen, who won an individual meeting at Newcastle recently.

Also likely to ride are Danes Martin Muller and Johannes Kikkenborg, who have both been in good form on the tour.
