NEWCASTLE v SHEFFIELD - PREVIEW

Saturday July 04, 2009
SHEFFIELD will finish off their recent busy schedule with a tough trip to Newcastle on Sunday evening (6.30pm).

The Tigers will be hoping to complete the double over the Diamonds having already won at the Byker track in the Premier Trophy earlier this season.

On that occasion Chris Mills was the match winner, but this time they face a much different proposition with the Tyneside club having signed the highly-experienced Mark Lemon in the last few days.

Team news for Sheffield sees Josh Auty definitely sidelined, but Richard Hall hopes to ride despite the broken foot he suffered at Somerset on Friday.

Auty damaged a rib or muscles around the rib cage in a fall against Birmingham on Thursday and whilst he continued the meeting after treatment, he had a very uncomfortable night and is in severe pain when drawing breath.

The Tigers, meanwhile, hope to have confirmation on Hall’s situation by Sunday lunchtime, but if he misses out then they will have a guest on standby.

NEWCASTLE: Kenni Larsen, Derek Sneddon, Jason King, Rene Bach, Mark Lemon, Adam McKinna, Trent Leverington

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Joel Parsons, Richard Hall, Josh Auty (rider-replacement), Chris Mills, Paul Cooper
