SOMERSET v SHEFFIELD - PREVIEW

Thursday July 02, 2009
SHEFFIELD head south to Somerset on Friday evening in the search of more Premier League points.

The Rebels are a tough nut to crack on their home track, but buoyed by Thursday’s victory over Birmingham, the Tigers will be hoping to take something from the fixture.

Sheffield are in the middle of a busy few days for man and machine. Following Friday’s encounter against the Rebels they will travel north on Sunday to face Newcastle and club owner Neil Machin is now looking for his team to start stepping-up their away performances.

He said: “We’ve got a tough week ahead and by the end of it we’ll know whether we’ll be contenders or not.

“We have only taken one point away from home so far and that hasn’t been good enough.

“People are writing us off, but we have shown signs that we can do it.”

SOMERSET: Steve Johnston, Simon Walker, Cory Gathercole, Nick Simmons, Emil Kramer, Tom Brown, Justin Sedgemen
