COMPTON: "RARING TO GO!"

Wednesday March 14, 2007
SHEFFIELD TIGERS skipper Andre Compton insists his side are raring to go for Thursday's Owlerton opener with Elite League glamour boys Wolverhampton (7.45pm).

The Black Country side include Swedish stars Freddie Lindgren and Magnus Karlsson alongside Great Britain star David Howe.

It's a good test for Compton's men ahead of their Premier Trophy campaign which starts soon.

"As soon as we were told Wolverhampton were coming to town we were all up for it," said Compton.

"They've got some good riders but I think the team they've picked means it will be more of a level playing field and hopefully the fans will see a cracking meeting."

The meeting sees the Tigers debut of James Cockle and Joel Parsons - but the other five starters have all raced in club colours before. Tapes rise at 7.45pm and a bumper crowd is expected, including plenty of travelling Wolverhampton fans.

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth, Joel Parsons, Andre Compton, James Cockle, Ben Wilson, James Birkinshaw, Paul Cooper.

WOLVES: Freddie Lindgren, Nicolai Klindt, Adam Skornicki, Magnus Karlsson, David Howe, Carl Wilkinson, Theo Pijper.
