SHEFFIELD v BIRMINGHAM THURSDAY - PREVIEW

Wednesday June 10, 2009
SHEFFIELD are back in Premier League action when they face Birmingham at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45).

And the Sheffield Window Centre-backed side will be unchanged after their encouraging win over Newcastle last week.

Boss Eric Boocock believes his team are starting to get it right after an inconsistent first three-months of the campaign.

He said: “We’re starting to look a lot better and I certainly feel we have what it takes to beat Birmingham.

“But they are looking a bit stronger after their recent team changes so it could be quite a meeting.”

The Brummies signed Austrian ace Manuel Hauzinger and former Sheffield rider James Cockle in a double swoop last month. The move allowed highly rated Australian youngster Richard Sweetman to switch to reserve.

Jason Lyons has started to show improved form as their inspirational skipper and Tomasz Piszcz is always good value with his no-nonsense riding style.

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Chris Mills, Richard Hall, Josh Auty, Joel Parsons, Paul Cooper.
BIRMINGHAM: Jason Lyons, Manuel Hauzinger, Ludvig Lindgren, Robert Ksiezak, Tomasz Piszcz, James Cockle, Richard Sweetman.
