SHEFFIELD v BERWICK PREVIEW - THURSDAY

Wednesday May 13, 2009
SHEFFIELD owner Neil Machin insists the club are listening to their supporters ahead of Thursday’s Premier Trophy clash with Berwick at Owlerton (7.45).

Results have been disappointing so far this season and Machin is hoping the Sheffield Window Centre-backed side will silence the critics with a big win against the Bandits.

Tigers remain unchanged for the meeting despite a run of recent defeats – and Machin has a clear message for riders and supporters alike.

“We are not oblivious to the comments from fans, but we are not in the sacking business at Sheffield unless we have to,” he said.

“But the riders do know that the clock is ticking because the gremlins that should have been eradicated weeks ago are still there.

“The best thing we can do is get out there against Berwick and get a good win which gets our confidence back.”

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Paul Cooper, Ritchie Hawkins, Joel Parsons, Richard Hall, Chris Mills, Josh Auty.
BERWICK: William Lawson, Tero Aarnio, Paul Clews, Josef Franc, Michal Makovsky, Greg Blair, Gugliemo Franchetti.
