TIGERS SHOCKED BY GLASGOW

SHEFFIELD'S hopes of qualifying for the Premier Trophy Semi-Finals were dashed with a shock 48-47 home defeat by Glasgow on Thursday.

The Owlerton men appeared to be in complete control with a 12-point lead going into the last five races including three heat advantages from skipper Ricky Ashworth and Paul Cooper.

But it all went wrong as the Scottish side - who have a poor record at Owlerton - clicked into gear to stage a remarkable comeback.

Shane Parker and Mitchell Davey picked up a stunning 8-1 in Heat 11 and when Parker combined with James Grieves in Heat 13 to beat both Ashworth and Richard Hall the alarm bells were ringing.

Skipper Parker was the hero again alongside Grieves, who has been well known for his dislike of the Sheffield track, in the last heat decider to win it for the visitors.

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth 10+1, Ritchie Hawkins 10, Chris Mills 9, Paul Cooper 6+1, Josh Auty 6+1, Joel Parsons 4+3, Richard Hall 2+1.
GLASGOW: Shane Parker 16 (PICTURED), James Grieves 11+2, Josh Grajczonek 11, Mitchell Davey 10+2, Peter Juul 0, Lee Smart 0, Ross Brady R/R.
