SHEFFIELD V GLASGOW - THURSDAY PREVIEW

Wednesday April 29, 2009
IT’S the battle of the Tigers at Owlerton Stadium on Thursday night as Sheffield face Glasgow in Premier Trophy action (7.45).

Sheffield are unchanged from the side which beat Workington last week with Josh Auty showing no ill effects after his crash in that meeting.

Co-promoter David Hoggart will take charge of the team in the absence of Eric Boocock who has a prior engagement.

Said Hoggart: “I’m expecting a good meeting, Glasgow have some exciting young riders in their team and they’ll be good to watch.

“Hopefully we can continue to show the form we did against Workington.”

Experienced Australian Shane Parker once again spearheads the Glasgow side in what is expected to be his final season before retiring back to his home country.

And in Josh Grajczonek and Mitchell Davey the Scottish side boast two talented young Aussies widely tipped for a future in the Elite League.

NB SHEFFIELD fans are reminded about the free coach travel on offer for next Tuesday’s trip to Scunthorpe, which will be screened live by Sky Sports.

Ian Hunter of club sponsors Sheffield Window Centre has provided the backing for the transport and fans are urged to take advantage of the offer on Thursday night by going to the track shop.

Admission on the night has also been reduced to just £5 adults and Under-16s free.

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Paul Cooper, Ritchie Hawkins, Joel Parsons, Richard Hall, Chris Mills, Josh Auty.
GLASGOW: Shane Parker, Ross Brady, Peter Juul, Josh Grajczonek, James Grieves, Mitchell Davey, Lee Smart.
