EUROPA'S FAST ARM OF THE LAW TAKES ON THE TIGERS

Monday April 06, 2009
THE star of Channel Five’s Police Interceptors went head-to-head with one of the stars of Sheffield Tigers speedway team at Owlerton Stadium recently.

Sheffield’s Europa Subaru wowed race fans by allowing them to get up close and personal with one of the fastest patrol cars on the planet – the Impreza STI WRX, employed by the police to catch fast performance cars from the Ferrari to the BMW.

Mark Hobson, director at Europa Subaru, said: “The fully liveried Impreza STI WRX is a sight to behold – and certainly not something you’d relish on your tail when you realise it can do 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds and has a top speed of 155mph!

“Though this is an official police vehicle – exactly the same model is one of our best sellers in Sheffield and we’ve just taken delivery of an even more powerful model – the 330bhp Special Edition.”

Speedway is renowned as being one of the fastest and most dangerous sports on the planet but Sheffield Tigers hero Ricky Ashworth was convinced the car would give his team a good run for their money!

Europa – which is sited at Granville Square - became the new Sheffield home of Subaru sales and servicing in autumn 2008.

The stylish brand – which boasts everything from the city-friendly Justy to the luxury of the Tribeca – added a new and exciting division to the city centre operation that was already renowned for its prestige vehicle sales arm and its Mercedes Benz Official Workshop centre.

Subaru is renowned for offering all-wheel drive as standard on all vehicles except the Justy and Europa enjoyed a big increase in sales after the recent heavy snowfalls.

The range offers fantastic value for money, superb handling and an all-round fantastic drive.
