ADAMS TO RIDE IN BEN FUND BONANZA

Tuesday January 20, 2009
TEN times Australian Champion Leigh Adams has responded positively to an invitation from meeting organiser Paul Ackroyd and so will be appearing in the Ben Fund Bonanza at Sheffield on 29th March.

From Australia Adams said “It’s a worthy cause and I will be delighted to ride in the meeting.”

The amazing 37 year old Australian superstar won all his heats in the recent three-round Australian Final and is showing no signs of slowing down in what is one of the all-time great speedway careers.

It is hoped to cover the costs of the meeting through sponsorship and costs have been set at £2,000 to sponsor the meeting, £250 to back either a rider or a heat, and £50 to provide fuel and a tyre for a rider.

Paul Ackroyd said “it would be great if we can cover all these costs through sponsorship and leave everything else to go into the Benevolent Fund.

“That’s really the reason for doing it. I attended an event in Halifax this week and came away with some sponsorship pledges, so that’s a good start.”
