DOUBLE world champion Jason Crump is the first big name to be confirmed for the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund meeting at Sheffield on March 29 (3.30pm).

The former Belle Vue man has quit British racing to focus on his world title bid next season but was quick to offer his services for the Owlerton event.

Meeting organiser Paul Ackroyd said: “Jason was the first rider to offer his services. It’s great news.”
