PAUL Cooper is Sheffield’s sixth confirmed signing for the 2009 season.

The hugely-popular Yorkshireman returns for what will be his fifth campaign with the club at Premier League level.

There has been speculation in some quarters that the 26-year-old may have been on the move this winter - but he insists his heart has always been with the Tigers.

He said: "I said to the management at the end of last season that Sheffield was the club I always wanted to ride for next year.

"I love riding for the Tigers and it was always my first choice. I was aware of all the rumours going around as I had a lot of people asking me what was going on.

"I shall start next season in the main body of the team, but I’m determined to try and challenge for one of the three heat-leader spots.

“It’s a good-looking team the management are putting together and I can’t wait for the new season to start next March.”
