TEENAGE ACE AUTY JOINS TIGERS

Wednesday December 03, 2008
SHEFFIELD Tigers have completed the signing of talented teenager Josh Auty in a loan deal from Coventry.

Auty spent last season with Sheffield’s Premier League rivals Redcar but started his career under the wing of current Tigers boss Eric Boocock as a 15-year-old – and he was also in the same racing stable as British Grand Prix star Scott Nicholls.

He joins Ricky Ashworth, Richard Hall and Joel Parsons in the Sheffield Window Centre-backed Tigers line-up for the 2009 season which starts in March.

Tigers owner Neil Machin said: “Josh didn't have the best of seasons at Redcar and he'll be looking forward to linking up with Eric Boocock again. Josh and our other signing this week, Richard Hall, are quality riders and things are starting to look good for us.

"We still have a few places to fill, but we are talking to several riders including a couple of foreigners and the options we have are certainly positive."
