SHEFFIELD V STOKE PREVIEW

Wednesday September 24, 2008
SHEFIELD Tigers are looking to head into the Young Shield Play-offs in style with a win against Stoke Potters at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45pm).

The Sheffield Window Centre-backed side will again be without Ricky Ashworth through a broken wrist and David Speight will replace the released Kyle Hughes at reserve.

Stoke’s former Sheffield man Lee Complin will make his return to track action after recovering from injuries sustained in a serious car accident earlier this year. Complin was a league winner with Tigers back in 2002.

He also won the Garry Sead Benefit meeting at Owlerton last year against a host of Elite League stars and Sheffield track specialists.

Sheffield owner Neil Machin said: “We’re looking forward to this one and it’s great to see Lee Complin, who is still a Sheffield asset, back in action.”

Tigers skipper Andre Compton is ready to race despite his nasty crash in Sunday’s Premier League Riders’ Championshp at Owlerton.

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth R/R, Joel Parsons, Andre Compton, Paul Cooper, Ben Wilson, David Speight, Lee Smethills.
STOKE: Lee Complin, Mark Burrows, Ben Barker, Krister Jakobsen, Andrew Moore, Jesper Kristiansen, Klaus Jacobsen.
