JOEL Parsons has agreed a deal to join Elite League Swindon as a squad member... but he remains a full-time Sheffield rider.

Parsons has impressed on the occasions he has appeared in the top flight - including a matchwinning display for the Robins at Swindon in April - and he's now been named as their number eight.

Swindon co-owner Gary Patchett: "The injury to Cory Gathercole means that we were vulnerable as a team without a designated number eight rider.

"Whilst we are actively seeking replacements for Seb Alden it is good to know we can rely on Joel, rather than calling on guest replacements."
