IT is with regret and sadness that Sheffield Speedway announces the tragic loss of Darren and Sharon Boocock in a road traffic accident in South Yorkshire on Friday. They leave a 12-year old son.

Darren, the son of former England Captain Nigel and nephew of current Tigers Team Manager Eric, has devoted his life to Speedway and has made a significant contribution to the Sheffield club.

Sharon has played a huge part by supporting Darren and Speedway riders from all over the world who have relied on the Boococks for assistance.

The family have asked for respect and complete privacy during this very difficult time.
